another day, another accident...

i weep when i read of innocent people dying in road accidents... what can we do to avoid the repeat of such incidents?  it's always finger-pointing time when major accidents happened that claim numerous innocent lives! whose fault is it? the jpj? the vehicle manufacturer? the driver? the road condition? the other driver? the winding road? the police? the ministry? the poor maintenance of the vehicle? fate? whose fault? it always boils down to the hapless driver's fault for he was the one driving the vehicle... that's where most blame starts... then... oh... i don't care whose fault it is... just don't let it happen again.... and gain and again...

no more pmr?

is it a good thing? however it'll only be implemented starting 2016. i would feel that with the abolish of the pmr, students might lose the spirit to work hard during their lower secondary level and only buck up when they're in form 4 or 5... wouldn't that be too late? doesn't the saying goes that "to train a tree, it is when it is still young" ? all the present generations of politicians have gone through the rigmarole of exams and they have all been successful and have become accomplished politicians or useful citizens, so where is the flaw? why abolish exams when it has been proven successful? aren't what they have become proof enough?

one good turn deserves another?

recently, while driving my children to have lunch in town, i saw an old lady walking tiredly along the road. she happens to be a neighbour of my mother-in-law. so, being a good samaritan, i stopped the car to fetch her home.. everything was okay and she even thanked me profusely for my kind act... however, two days later, i heard she had a terrible quarrel with my mum-in-law... why? she told my mum-in-law that after fetching her that day, i went round telling everyone that she had dirtied my car for carrying her!! what nonsense!!! now, if ever i were to see her needing a ride....  i don't think i'll stop for her... once bitten, twice shy.... what is the world coming to?
